Gameday Preview from The Animals
Matt Meyer: Sooners will look to avoid their second losing season in three years when they take on Navy this Friday in the Armed Forces Bowl. Fun matchup between the number 6 rush offense of Navy and the number 12 rush defense of Oklahoma. It will also be fun to see Midshipmen head coach Brian Newberry, a Westmoore High School alum, coach against the team he grew up watching. With the way Jackson Arnold ran the ball late in the season, I’ll be very interested to see how Michael Hawkins does with a similar gameplan. Arnold is a good runner; Hawkins can be electric. Some of the momentum from the Alabama win departed with the LSU loss. Every bit of that momentum will be gone with a loss on Friday. Sooners can use as much positive energy as they can get going into a make or break 2025 for this coaching staff.
